The Arts & Sciences Marketing and Communications (A&S MarComm) team collaborates with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the community to support the school’s strategic priorities and enhance its reputation and impact. Our team brings a strategic eye and creative approach to every project and consultation to ensure Arts & Sciences stands out from its peers.

Our Services

The A&S MarComm team can help you define your priorities, set communications goals, identify the right channels, and execute plans for success. Depending on the project, this may include: 

  • Editorial coverage: Our team of experienced writers and editors can develop a story that gets your research, projects, and achievements to internal and external audiences and the media. We work closely with University Marketing & Communications (UMC) and other WashU communications teams to make this process simple and effective. 
  • Website support: Our team supports websites for Arts & Sciences departments, centers, and programs. We can suggest improvements to your site, consult on best practices for SEO/AEO, and troubleshoot any problems you’re facing. 
  • Branding guidance: Need help understanding WashU’s brand guidelines? We can ensure you’re using the correct logos, fonts, colors, and other assets.
  • Design and photography: Our in-house creative team can support or consult on design, photography, and multimedia projects. 
  • Social media: We love to collaborate on social media campaigns and can provide consultation services to help you make the most of your online presence.
  • Marketing: We can provide consultation services to departments and programs interested in utilizing marketing best practices to get the right message to the right audience.

Every member of the A&S MarComm team brings more than a decade of professional experience to their job.   • The Ampersand: Our news hub, featuring research stories, student and alumni spotlights, faculty notables, Q&As, and more.
  • Ampersand magazine: Our award-winning magazine showcases the best of Arts & Sciences and is distributed twice a year.
  • Ampersand Weekly (email newsletter): Get weekly updates on news, events, and other important updates from Arts & Sciences. This newsletter is designed for A&S faculty, staff, and students, but is open it all.
  • Ampersand Monthly (LinkedIn newsletter): Subscribe to our award-winning roundup of A&S news delivered directly through LinkedIn every month.
  • Social media: We provide authentic, strategic content and engage with our audiences on the following sites.

Social Media Account Request Form: All schools, departments, centers, and units seeking to establish or open a new social media account MUST complete this form. This form helps us understand the purpose and intent of your proposed account, ensuring the chosen platform fits the university's communication goals. Before filling out the form, consider your options carefully. Social media management is a full-time responsibility and requires dedication. WashU has many existing social media channels, so we encourage you to explore your school or departmental hierarchy and collaborate with established accounts whenever possible.
